This class guides you through the basics of adjusting your tension, maintaining healthy posture, and quilting four foundational FMQ motifs: meander, loopy meander, swirls, and switchbacks.<br \/>\nFree motion quilting is a lot like handwriting\u2013 a few shapes that, once learned, can be mixed and matched into dozens of motifs. I see the joy during our<br \/>\nworkshops and the unforgettable escape organized by<br \/>\nour retreat managers. Who could forget the fun of Make<br \/>\nand Take It or the learning and laughter thriving in our<br \/>\nBee Groups. I feel the deep warmth of our service efforts as quilts like Just For You and QOV,<br \/>\nplacemats, and comforting cancer pillows find their way to those in need.<br \/>\nI am especially grateful for the magic that happens at every meeting that includes the welcoming<br \/>\nsmiles at the membership table to include our Friendship and Hospitality volunteers. There\u2019s the<br \/>\nbuzz of Show and Tell, and the anticipation around our birthday drawings. Behind the scenes,<br \/>\ndedicated hands manage our library, produce our newsletter, maintain our website, photograph<br \/>\nour history, take our minutes and keep our finances and governance sound with the guidance of<br \/>\nour treasurer, parliamentarian, and board.<br \/>\nMany of you wear more than one hat, stepping in wherever help is needed. Please know that<br \/>\nyour dedication enriches every member&#8217;s experience.<br \/>\nTogether, we\u2019ve grown. Thank you for the memories and for allowing me to serve as your<br \/>\npresident for another year.
