Dear Gwinnett Quilters’ Guild,
Thank you to our Board of Directors and the many volunteers who give so generously of their time and talents. Your willingness to serve makes everything we do possible.
When I look back on this past year, I don’t just see tasks;
I see the heartbeat of our guild. I see the joy during our
workshops and the unforgettable escape organized by
our retreat managers. Who could forget the fun of Make
and Take It or the learning and laughter thriving in our
Bee Groups. I feel the deep warmth of our service efforts as quilts like Just For You and QOV,
placemats, and comforting cancer pillows find their way to those in need.
I am especially grateful for the magic that happens at every meeting that includes the welcoming
smiles at the membership table to include our Friendship and Hospitality volunteers. There’s the
buzz of Show and Tell, and the anticipation around our birthday drawings. Behind the scenes,
dedicated hands manage our library, produce our newsletter, maintain our website, photograph
our history, take our minutes and keep our finances and governance sound with the guidance of
our treasurer, parliamentarian, and board.
Many of you wear more than one hat, stepping in wherever help is needed. Please know that
your dedication enriches every member’s experience.
Together, we’ve grown. Thank you for the memories and for allowing me to serve as your
president for another year. I look forward to seeing where our creativity takes us next—and don’t
forget that our October States Mystery Quilt Challenge is due in October, so keep quilting!
I hope to see you at the Guild Meeting this month, August 18th at 9:30 (1st floor) in our normal
meeting room. Let’s celebrate with each other with a traditional Ice Cream Social. Don’t forget
your toppings!

Just For You

The J4U bee group is now meeting at Grayson United Methodist Church, 555 Grayson Parkway, Grayson, Ga from 10:00 to 2:00 the last Friday of each month.  We have plenty of space for people to join us.  You can work on the kits or your own J4U quilt.  If you have any questions please contact me.
