“Two Block Wonders”

Nancy is an international Quilter, Teacher, Fabric Designer, and Author of 14 books. Her Program, titled “Two Block Wonders”, will show us how to place two different blocks side by side to create extraordinary quilts.  Every quilter can make unique quilts. Nancy will share her quilts with us and tips for successfully pairing-up blocks to create dazzling results.

April 17, 2024 – Blooming Feathered Star Workshop

Nancy Mahoney will teach a class on making a feathered star block.  The 44” x 44” block can stand alone as a wall hanging or put 4 blocks together to create a stunning quilt.  You will learn cutting and piecing techniques for making accurate triangle squares. Different colorways can be seen at the Program Table.  Cost is $45 and includes the pattern. The class will be held at Cannon Methodist Church 9:00-3:00

FY 2023-2024 Membership Form

Note from the Vice President

Cannon Cause for April is non-food items such as soap, cleaners, TP, toothpaste, etc. They are also asking for Mac & cheese this month as a special request.
May will be canned goods and June will be snack foods.

Please bring any completed fidget quilts to the April meeting for Show and Tell and then I would like to collect them to turn in to Affinis Hospice.

Please continue to work on our community projects- Breast Cancer Pillows, Pillowcases, Placemats, Fidget Quilts, Mommy pads and Just For You quilts.

The nominating committee (Kim Beasley, Bobbie Cox, Kay Rozea, Kathy White and myself) is looking for people who would like to lead our guild for the coming year.  Please consider stepping up and helping our guild stay strong.

Please consider joining the great group of members on the governing board.  The nominating committee will be forming soon and we will be needing people to help lead us into the next year.  Contact any board member if you are interested.

Masks are optional.

No food or drinks will be provided.

The door on the left side of the building will be locked; however, we will have someone stationed there to let people in from 9:30 until 10:05.  If you arrive after that time you will need to enter through the door on the opposite side.  (the side by the traffic light)

Show & Tell – Because we expect everyone will be anxious to show what they have been doing over the shut-down, we will enforce the two quilt limit for show & tell.  We need to give everyone a chance to display their projects.

Free Table – The Free Table will be set up for you to share your treasures.  At the end of the meeting, please take home any of your items that were not chosen.

GOT TICKETS?

The birthday table will be set up for our first time back together in two years!  Raffle tickets are still a bargain (when everything else is rising in cost).  Just $1 will get you four tickets.  Time for us to gather and have a great time!

Just For You

The J4U bee group is now meeting at Grayson United Methodist Church, 555 Grayson Parkway, Grayson, Ga from 10:00 to 2:00 the 4th Thursday each month.  We have plenty of space for people to join us.  You can work on the kits or your own J4U quilt.  If you have any questions please contact me.
